Appleton’s is a well-established traditional pork butcher and pie maker with shops in Ripon, Wetherby, Boroughbridge, and Knaresborough. Selling a wide range of fresh pork, hams, sausages and of course our legendary pork pies since 1867. Appleton’s commitment to quality and good value remains unchanged.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Retail Shop Manager who will assist in the management and development of our busy Ripon shop.
You must have high street food retail management or supervisory experience and first-class customer service skills. Experience within a Butchery or Bakery environment would be advantageous.
The role involves assisting the Manager in the following:-
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a pleasant, efficient and timely manner.
- Ensure that customer facing areas are in good clean condition, well presented and well stocked
- Ordering required stock from factory on a daily basis
- Drive sales and reduce waste to maximise profit
- Manage production of stock ensuring freshly baked product is available throughout the day
- Ensure cleaning procedures are followed and records are completed as per schedule
- Enforce safe food hygiene procedures within your team, eg/ personal hygiene, cook and raw segregation, cleaning as you go
- Ensure product is labelled at all times and shelf-life procedure followed

This is a Full-time, Permanent role working Monday to Saturday with a day off through the week.
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year depending on experience.
